Had piano remedial at an ungodly hour, freaking 9 am. Where most of the time my mind isn't even functioning at its fastest. Blah, and I think I overstrained my arm muscles while doing 100x of a certain part of Mozart's Allegro. It's my own fault, I know, because I tensed my arms too much to control the speed, or else I'll just go out of control, but still, it bloody aches and annoys me. Anyway, it only like lasted for two hours, so after that I was free to go.

Went straight to CCK library after that because I decided that I wanted to get Sunshine after all. In the end, I ended up borrowing not one, but three more books:

Jim Butcher's White Night, in which Faza just told me about the Dresden Files tv show. Seems interesting, I guess.
Alan Campbell's Scar Night, only because a reviewer compared it to Neil Gaiman's writing, and he's one of my most favourite writers.
Tom Lloyd's the Stormcaller. I think it's good, having read the first chapter before borrowing it, it has the elements of high fantasy in it.

Yada yada yada, bumped into Emily and we talked for a while, apparently Kranji choir are having more practices, well, good for them then.

190 arrived in about 5 minutes or so, so I didn't lose my patience and all that, and basically just stoned for the entire bus ride. Faza was late due to her lessons, blah. I hate walking around aimlessly, it's so... boring, especially when you're alone. I like walking around aimlessly with friends, and walking around purposefully alone. Did I make sense?

Yeah, and Faza made me doubt my directional skills. Which were perfectly fine, now that I think of it. I mean, I know the layout of town pretty well, since I used to go there every single day for work... (but whatever, I think it has to do with my Virgo in Mars.)

So yeah, we walked over to cineleisure, had lunch at BK and went up for Narnia. (:

Basically, the entire movie was not too bad, decent enough. But a Disney movie is after all a Disney movie, (not that it's anything bad) because out of all the fighting, not even a speck of blood was spilled. Okay, so there was a tiny amount of blood in the like last part of the movie where Peter and Miraz were fighting and Peter cut his knee or something. The soundtrack was good, I liked the recurring theme in it, and it sounds really grand, which suited the atmosphere of the movie really well. The scenery was gorgeous, the white beaches, blue-green seas, lush forests, so very captivating.

I won't be comparing it with the book because honestly, I read it like way back, during primary 4? Yeah, so my grasp on everything Narnia is pretty... dusty. Spoilers ahoy, y'all. (>.> what's with the phony accent?)

We open with a woman giving birth, dark curls all plastered to her forehead and all that supposedly grunting and pushing going on and sore to say, she still look damn easy going after apparent hours of labor, I mean, come on, be more realistic. No one's supposed to look pretty undergoing labor... but whatever, apparently, she has given birth to a son.

So we have our main character's, okay, one of them, life in peril because when you're in the royal family, newborn babies are very dangerous. Caspian was unceremoniously shoved out of the palace by his teacher who for some hidden agenda, needs him to be alive and gives him this mysterious artifact in order to help him. How very cryptic and as subtle as a hammer to the head. But anyway, Prince Caspian is then chased by the assassins/guards that his uncle sent to snuff him out in order to become king. Predictable, yes? So, we have him running through a lovely forest where he *music starts to escalate* meets real life Narnians which are supposedly extinct. Because he has all the right reasons to feel threatened, guards out for his life, supposedly extinct creatures looming over you, he blows the horn that his teacher gave him.

Pan over to the four destined ones, (sorry, I couldn't resist) we see Susan being hit on by this geek, and she lies through her teeth when he asked for her name. But her cover is blown when Lucy calls her over. And we see them rushing away and it appears that Peter has gotten into a fight with some guys from school over a very dumb reason. Typical teenage behavior, yah? Someone bumps into you, demands that you apologize, you feel that your manliness has been challenged so you punch him. It can happen to anyone, right? Then Edmund joins in the fray as well because, hey, it's your brother getting hit, you must prove your manliness too and besides you need to enter the movie in a kickass way.

Finally, the four of them are unhassled in the train station where they address each other properly. Yeah, apparently Peter's going through this phase that will continue until the movie is nearly half done. Boys will be boys, I guess. Whereas Susan is like, hey England's the only home we have, gotta make the best of it. Lucy still wants to return to Narnia because after all, it's a way cooler place than England, right? Edmund remains neutral because well, you need different reactions from different people? Haha, whatever.

Then the train rushes past into the station and the world begins to change, only for the four of them though. Posters tear off the walls, the bricks begin to crumble, the earth presumely shakes, and they decide that holding holds together is the safest course of action... I am amazed by their survival instincts already. >.>

I wanna live here XD So very scenic

They then reappear in a cove beside a gorgeous beach and begin to play in the water, suddenly without any care in the world, because heck it all, they got to be in Narnia again, right? The mood then turns somber when they discover the ruins. Of Cair Paravel. They find their old luggage and how they apparently were supposed to be dead because they have been away for like what, 1300 years?

Meanwhile, dear uncle Miraz plots and plans and convinces his fellow Telmarine leaders that the Narnians are evil, here he drags in Trumpkin and effectively blames them for Caspian's disappearance.

We move back to Caspian again, where he wakes up and is confronted with a talking badger and a grumpy dwarf. After some witty banter and serious conversations, they head off to a clearing after being chased by guards again and being aided by a mouse, Reepicheep? There, Caspian makes this grand speech and convince the Narnians to help him in exchange for their freedom and lands.

The Telmarine soldiers were going to dispose of Trumpkin by dumping him into the waters when stupidly Susan says, "Drop him." =.= They were going to do that even without you telling them so, you know. But anyway, she shoots them into the water just as Trumpkin is tossed off the boat. Peter dives into the water and saves said dwarf who was in no way grateful to them. In order to convince Trumpkin that these wet-behind-their-ears kids were the glorious leaders of past, we have a cool swordfighting scene between Edmund and Trumpkin. Damn cool, I tell you.

Anyway, they then set off and apparently Lucy sees a glimpse of Aslan but is promptly dismissed by her older siblings, only Edmund believes her because he learned from his past mistake in the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Anyway, the five of them accidentally stumbled upon Caspian. Peter fought with him and after taking a good look at him exclaimed, 'You're Caspian' or something along that line. How on earth he recognized him, I have no clue.

Right, so after the misunderstanding is cleared up and all, they return to this fortress building? Yeah, and start to plan for action. And here we see a clash of opinions, a need to prove their manliness, lol. Yeah, Peter vs Caspian. Idk, but I don't exactly recall this from the book... hmm. Caspian would rather prepare for a siege and wait for the Telmarine troops to arrive whereas Peter wants to attack Miraz at his castle. No one listens to Lucy who wants to find Aslan. Poor girl.

Due to Caspian's initiative, the plan was botched. Even though the Narnians put up a good fight, tons of them were slaughtered as Peter called for a retreat. Good going, eh, Caspian? Save one life and get more killed. Apparently, after saving his teacher, Caspian finds out that his dear father did not die as peacefully as he thought. So he went to confront Miraz and botched the plan. Yeah, and his actions aided Miraz into proclaiming himself King.

Demoralized, they return to the fortress and more arguing occurs. Geez, what are they at? A rebellious phase?

Caspian was then almost forced into making a stupid decision by one of the dwarves, (can't remember his name) that is to summon the White Witch from the previous movie. Peter and gang rushes in to stop him, and starts to fight the dwarf, the hag and the bear (ignore the bad pun) But stupid Peter after knocking away Caspian who is unable to resist the temptation from the White Witch, gets hypnotized himself. Luckily, we see Edmund stepping away from his brash brother's shadow and he smashes the gateway of the White Witch, effectively breaking the spell. Sarcastically he says, 'Yeah, you had it sorted.' Or something like that.

The Telmarine army is slowly approaching and the gang have to make a new plan of action. Caspian then have a brilliant idea, to engage Miraz in a one-on-one duel to the death. Edmund is sent to extend the deal and here we have more witty banter as Miraz is goaded into accepting. Haha, I can't help it, I seriously like Edmund here. I sort of disliked him in the previous movie. Meanwhile, while the men slog it out old fashionedly, Susan and Lucy are sent on a seekrit mission. (sorry, I couldn't resist) Chased by Telmarines, they are to find Aslan and humbly grovel ask for his help. Caspian aids them as Lucy is sent on ahead and Susan remains to fight off the soldiers. Peter and Miraz fight, both getting injured and all. I think Peter drew first blood as Miraz drew first bruise, lol. Just as Peter finally gets the upper hand of Miraz, he decides that Caspian is the worthy one of killing Miraz so he passes the sword to Caspian who is unable to do it, because he supposed to stand on the side of good and hence must be noble.

However, we see Miraz being backstabbed by one of his own people. Some Lord used Susan's distinctive red feathered arrow and killed Miraz. Proclaiming loudly to the army that they had killed Miraz, an outright war begins now. Catapults flinging rocks, traps activating to collapse the ground beneath the feet of the Telmarine soldiers, griffins carrying archers, etc. Cool battle scenes and all that.

Meanwhile, Lucy actually manages to find Aslan who tells her some truths of the universe. In order to aid them, he rouses the trees from their deep slumber and just like in LoTR, we have trees joining into the fray as well. In order not to allow the Narnians the advantage since they were surrounded by trees, the ursper called for a retreat to the river where they are confronted by Aslan and Lucy. As the Telmarine do not understand the danger they face, they charged towards Aslan who then summoned the river god. The river god destroys the stupid bridge in which most of the army are standing upon and eats the ursper. The surviving Telmarines are then made to surrender while the main characters go over to see Aslan.

So therefore, the moral of the story is it sucks to be the villian in a children's tale because no matter what, you will always lose. And that Aslan is like god, so therefore he will defintely PWN you. Yeah. So just piss off before he summons some creature to do so without even getting his own paws dirty.

... And I definitely do not remember Caspian and Susan kissing... >.> unless there was subtle flirting within the book that a ten year old cannot comprehend? But it is also bluntly stated that Peter and Susan won't be coming back ever because they have learned all that Narnia can teach them. So what? Narnia is a new way of education? And that you can only go there because you are needed? Ouch, yeah? Because they only summoned you when they need your help, and tell you that you can't return because your services have been appreciated but are no longer needed?

Oh, so the story of 'The Horse and His Boy' is before Prince Caspian. Hmm, I got my timeline mixed up then. I think Dawn Treader should be next... right?

On a side note, I bet Skander Keynes will be pretty hot when he grows up. And even though he's my age, born in 1991, I cannot help but feel like I wanna kidnap him to be my little brother. Lol

Anyway, after that, I went to find Amirah, only to know that she's over at Dhoby Gaut... so while waiting for her, I went over to Heeren's HMV and bought TOKIO HOTEL's ZIMMER 483 LIVE IN EUROPE. At 23 bucks, I know it's not overly expensive, but still, I'm pretty broke already.

Went shopping around with Amirah as she wanted to get a bag, hers is about to fal apart apparently. Stuff over at the Heeren was too expensive for her, so we went to Far East Plaza where she bought this black bag, quite nice, I guess.
