Long post here today. Just a heads up first.
Had a weird dream last night, but other than the fact that I knew it was important, I can't freaking remember what was it that I dreamt of. Darn.
Rant ahead. You have been warned.
Now that that's out of the way, we can finally move onto more pleasant stuff. I was nearly late for the concert, having dawdled too much at Borders and Kino before making my way to Esplanade. Heh. I actually wanted to buy some books... but didn't bring enough. And I thought 35 bucks would be sufficient. But no. There was one pretty good book on runes, but it was 40 over. And I didn't exactly want to buy books whose information could have been easily found on the net.
Wandered into HMV as well, and damn, did I want to buy stuff. Nightwish's Highest Hopes cd was going cheap, at $29, but I resisted temptations. I wanted to wipe clean their j-rock sections... ;_; but didn't have enough money. Damn, Miyavi's newest album was priced at 50 bucks!!
Anyway, reached home at about 11:30... so late... Good thing there's no school tomorrow. But I'm meeting Atiqah and Amirah for breakfast tomorrow at 8:15 am. So early... x.x

I'm not much of a people person.
Okay, that's a bold faced lie. I'm never a people person.
I don't get the fuck why people have to push and squeeze onto a train when the alighting passengers haven't even gotten a foot out. How the fuck is the freaking train supposed to accommodate more people when you don't let others out?! Use your bloody brain alright? And there was this stupid woman who had an entourage of kids, she told her husband (I presumed) not to move further into the train carriage because they were alighting at the next stop. And this was when other people were desperately trying to get onto the train. I wanted to fucking bite her then. Because just how bloody inconsiderate is that?! Seriously. I really really really wanted to BITE her. And I would have if not for the soothing voice of Ryuutarou crooning Spica at me. Goddamn it woman! And when she finally had the generosity to move further in, she basically had to show that she has a presence by bumping into me as well as other people.
And getting off the train was equally annoying. Damn, it's really as Ms Lai said, would be handy to have this pole to push people away so that alighting passengers can get the fuck out.
I won't mention the nuisance of people blocking the pavements and walking slowly because I'm guilty of that as well when walking with friends. But when I'm alone, I generally walk faster unless people in front of me are blocking my way.
You know, Shepherd Book of Firefly fame had this line about a certain level of hell specially for people who prey on children AND people who talk at the theater. PLEASE LET ME INCLUDE PEOPLE WHO TALK AT CONCERT HALLS.
Sure, it's fine and dandy if people talked before/after or during an intermission of a concert. But when the performers are on stage, please at least have the decency to give them some respect. After all, you paid good money to watch them perform, so why the hell are you chatting or giggling with your friends when the concert is going on! Shut the fuck up, yeah? Even if you're sick out of your goddamn puny brains, other people want to pay attention and do not need your pesky whining voices as background noise, alright? And don't think that people don't notice when you use handphones. Besides, Esplanade concert hall has no reception! What the hell are you fiddling with your phone for?! The backlight is annoying, damnit.
And people who blare loud music on trains through crappy phones, I hope a new level of hell will be opened specially for you too.

Because I bet other people will say it too, let me be among the masses and say that the President was in attendance of the concert as well.
There, out of the way with a handy sentence.

This year's concert was... alright, I guess. There were a few good songs, but mostly, I didn't really like the current repertoire. Sort of preferred the one that they did last year. But I did like the songs that the alumni choir did. And gods, their voices. The soloists were wonderful, especially the male soloist who did the Till Osterland vill jag fara. I think he was a tenor. As well as the following soloists. Their voices seemed to draw you in, which was exactly what the song wanted to do. Yeah, I really liked the last 3 songs presented by the alumni.
Gravity and Light received the loudest applause, but personally, I didn't really like it. Songs that were largely sound based weren't my type. I like my music to have lots of harmony and melody. So I was sort of put out when the noises drowned out the melody. D:
Cherry Blossoms was dreamy and slow, though I wished that their pronounciation of the japanese words were more accurate. As for Spring Dreams, Miniwanka, which made use of animals sounds, the people imitating the birds were really good, so good that I felt that the sounds were made by birds. :D Some of the songs that they chose were rather safe, I mean, considering their standards, they could afford to have picked riskier songs but over all, the concert was good.
They even had a song in which they made the audience participate in as well. And everyone was a good enough sport to join in as well. The song was relatively simple, even though I haven't heard it before, but the choir teacher came up on stage during the intermission period to 'coach' us. XD
Saw Miss Chan after the concert as I was going home. I don't know who was more embarrassed. Me or her. I mean, I just uttered her name in surprise when I saw her. Because she was talking to her friends and I was like, 'hey, I know this voice, it's familiar.' And yeah, just went 'Miss Chan?' Lol.
