It's kind of sad, you know, I'm on one of my rare days off, without any school or social obligations to fulfill and what on earth do I do with my time? Oh yeah, sit in front of my laptop and polish off tv shows.

Reaper, which currently airs on our crappy local tv channel, belongs to a genre that's near and dear to my heart. Right, urban fantasy, or maybe supernatural? Whatever. It's a decent comedy/drama but too straightforward and a tad too simple. But still, very entertaining, I completed the entire season 1 in one day.

they don't even have their own theme song. like, what's up with that?

Reaper's storyline is damn simple. There's this guy named Sam, his parents sold his soul to the devil. Like, really the devil. And on Sam's 21 birthday, he comes to collect the debt which ends up having Sam chasing after random evil souls that escape from hell. Yup.

because batman is not alone; he has robin, batgirl and that english butler dude.

and we have the rest of the cast, there's Andi who is the prerequisite love interest. >.> Which I think is annoying most of the time, watching Sam moon over her. C'mon, go take down the evil souls, who the heck cares about your friend/potential-lover sexual tension?! I certainly don't. And there's Sock, who is the goofball. He's like dumb but funny, troublesome but loyal. You know, the friend who embarrasses you most of the time, but you keep him around since he's funny. And the dude in the red jacket is Ben who is the brains of the team. Yeah, but for a smart guy, he makes dumb decisions especially when he's around Sock.

The formula is pretty simple: Each episode we have an escaped soul. The devil appears and have a little chit chat with Sam, maybe play with his mind a little, put a little fear of Satan into him, etc and promptly dump a weapon/vessel for Sam to use. Due to Sam's incompetence, we may see the devil appear in and out to give more advice/motivation. Sam, Sock and Ben hunt down this escapee and some hijinks happen and someone gets a little injured and Sam saves the day by pointing the vessel in the correct direction. Yes, it's that simple. D: They then send the vessel back into hell through a counter.

Wow, you must be a real moron.

the devil. showing off his cool powers. :D

But overall, it's pretty cool, I mean, it's sort of ridiculous how everything goes, like hey, people vanish out of thin air and no one cares? And how come they don't ever get fired for all the shit that they do? And how on earth does Sam goes back to The Work Bench after a bout of teleportation from the devil? Yeah, there are some loopholes unaddressed but looking at the vessels that have been used throughout the show, I don't really care too much.
